As incontinence affects 1 in 4 Australians of all ages and genders, it is most likely you have spoken to a caller with incontinence or who is caring for someone with incontinence. This video is to help staff on telephone advisory services identify callers who may be incontinent or are managing incontinence for the person they care for, and to provide them with the right information and referral.
This 7-minute video with Janine Armocida, continence nurse on the National Continence Helpline, covers:
Prevalence of incontinence and its impact (00:30)
How can the National Continence Helpline help? (01:03)
How to maintain the caller’s dignity while speaking on the topic (05:24)
How far to go when giving advice on continence matters (05:50)
Open between the hours of 8.00am and 8.00pm, Monday to Friday (AEST).
