International Women's Day

This International Women's Day (8 March 2021), we celebrate the achievements of women around the world. The day is also a chance to raise awareness and come together for women's equality. Get involved at the IWD website and #IWD2021 hashtag on social media.

Did you know: women are unequally represented in the more than 5 million Australians affected by incontinence.

In the Australian community, women make up 80 per cent of people who have urinary incontinence and 62 per cent of people with faecal incontinence.

Incontinence has long-lasting physical and mental effects that touch so many areas of our lives. Research shows many women with severe urinary incontinence report issues in the workplace with concentration and self-confidence.

It affects women of all ages, backgrounds and life stages. So, what can we do? Talking about this important health issue helps reduce the stigma around it. So, start a conversation with the  women in your life and together learn more about bladder, bowel and pelvic health and let them know there is help available.
