Areas of expertise as relates to the Continence Foundation of Australia
I have worked in the field of continence since 2010 and completed my Masters of Clinical Physiotherapy (Continence and Pelvic Health) in 2014. I have worked across private practice, public hospital, university, and community-based settings. I have supported people of all ages and abilities to address their continence issues, throughout both metropolitan, regional and remote WA. Currently, I am working in a leadership and clinical role for a continence service within the disability and aged care sectors.
Reasons for nomination
I can represent community-based continence services and the diverse background of health professionals delivering continence support at a national level. There is a lack of awareness amongst continence professionals and the general public as to the variety and scope of community-based continence services and the specific skills that different health professionals can offer in terms of continence assessment and management. I would like to see more accredited continence training available in Australia, particularly for Registered Nurses but also for other health professionals like Occupational Therapists.

Statement – how can you contribute to the strategic direction of the Continence Foundation of Australia
My passion for continence, clinical knowledge, and skill will provide insight into continence support for people with disabilities and the elderly beyond residential care settings. I also have the perspective of coming from a large state where I have provided continence support is some extremely remote settings. I am passionate about education and training in the field of continence and I wish to support the development of accredited courses for various health professionals to provide a high standard of continence assessment and management.
